Curriculum Overview

In Stepping Stones Special School for Children with Autism and Complex Needs we strive to provide a high standard of teaching and learning within a positive and enriching learning environment.

We believe that the educational experiences of our students should reflect what is available to their peers. Each student is assessed every year and from this assessment and discussions with the student’s parents and CDNT (if available) they have an IEP (Individual Educational Plan) created for them for that year.

As a school we believe in a collaborative approach, the professional responsibility for the education of the students lies within the class teacher, SNAs, Behavioural team and Principal.  We use the Primary Curriculum for students aged 5-12 and the Junior Cycle Programme for students aged 13-18.
